  • (AADA) The oldest drama school in America and still one ofthe best training grounds for US actors. It was founded (as the LyceumTheatre School of Acting) in 1884 in New York by the theater designerand playwright Steel MacKaye and others. The Academy is today affiliatedwith the State University of New York and offers junior and seniorclasses in acting. There is a second campus in Hollywood.
