  • The only joint manned space mission to have involved the United States and the former Soviet Union. Held in 1975, the project involved docking a US Apollo spacecraft with a Soviet Soyuz craft, the two carrying a total of five people. The language problem was solved by having Americans speak only Russian and the Soviets only English.
