Basic Rate Interface
- An ISDN line with two 64 kilobits per second B channels, and one 16 kilobits per second D channel. With the proper configuration, one B channel may be used for conversing on the telephone, and the other for a computer modem. Otherwise, the two B channels can be combined for total available bandwidth of 128 kilobits per second. Its abbreviation is BRI. Also called Basic rate Interface ISDN, Basic Rate ISDN, or ISDN-BRI.
