  • A stock character of the 18th-century Viennese theater. Animpetuous youth, Bernadon was developed by the Austrian actor JosephKurz (1715 - 84) from the peasant clown Hanswurst. Kurz'simprovised 'Bernadoniades' ran their course within his lifetime.
