  • noun a method of recording sound so that it gives the impression of stereophony when played back.

Electronics

  • Sound which is recorded placing two microphones approximately where the ears of a listener would be if present. When reproduced, a pair of headphones should be used to obtain the effect of being at the recording location. Also called binaural (2).
