  • noun the nostril of a cetacean such as a whale, situated towards the back of the skull, through which the whale releases air and water

Construction

  • In concrete, a bug hole or small regular or irregular cavity, not exceeding 15 mm in diameter, resulting from entrapment of air bubbles in the surface of formed concrete during placement and compaction. See also gas pocket.
