Construction

  • A threaded or smooth (for soldered tubing) pipe or tube fitting used to connect pipes or tubes of different diameters.
  • A metal sleeve screwed or fitted into an opening to protect and/or support a shaft, rod, or cable passing through the opening. Usually the inside surface of the bushing is machined to close tolerance to reduce friction and abrasion.
  • An insulating structure for a conductor, with provision for an insulated mounting.
