Construction

  • An open, metal framework used to support electrical conductors. Similar to cable duct except that the cable tray has a lattice-type construction and an open top.

Electronics

  • A specially designed channel through which cables and wires are run. A cable tray provides mechanical support, and protection which is tailored to specific needs. Such protection may include jackets and/or shields which safeguard against flames, high electrical noise, vibrations, crushing, and so on. Also called wireway.
