Capacity Utilization



  • An estimate of the current rate of inflation that is calculated and published by the Federal Reserve Bank of the United States. The capacity utilization rate is based on what percent of resources available to industries such as manufacturing and mining are being used, and can be used to determine upcoming changes to the values of currencies.

Health Economics

  • The extent to which the capacity of an organization like a hospital is actually being used. For hospitals, a common measure is the fraction of the number of beds that are filled (with patients of course).
