Carmignano DOCG

Definition

Wine

  • a DOCG area in the Chianti region of Tuscany, in northern Italy, growing Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and some other grapes that are blended to produce red wines similar to the wines from Chianti (which are made without the Cabernet Sauvignon). This area also produces sweet vin santo and rosé (rosato) wines – both have the lower DOC status.
