  • Various yellow/orange pigments in carrots and other yellow and green vegetables and fruit. It is converted into the antioxidant vitamin A in the body and used as a permitted orange food colouring E160(a). lycopene in tomatoes and beta-carotene in carrots are two well-known examples.
