Construction

  • A cutter used for boring holes in wood. The cutting end consists of a sharp, threaded screw for guidance and for pulling the tool deeper into the work piece. The bit also has a scorer for marking the outline of the hole and a lip for cutting away the wood inside the hole. The other end of the bit is usually a tapered rectangular block that is clamped in the chuck of a brace.
