The wine can be clarified at three points during the winemaking process: before fermentation, the grape juice (the must) can be clarified using a filter or by centrifugal force; during or after fermentation the wine can be racked; lastly, before bottling, the wine can be filtered or fined to produce a clear, bright liquid.
