- Slogan associated with the Windmill Theatre, London, which, under its proprietor Vivian Van Damm, was the only London theater to remainopen throughout the Blitz. Pedants might argue that the famous boast was notstrictly true, as the Windmill, like all other London theaters, was closed bygovernment order for three weeks after the declaration of war in September1939. Owing to the nature of the Windmill's productions at this time, apopular joke had it that the slogan should be spoken with a lisp.
