Health Economics

    Study of a cohort. A study of a group of patients initially with a characteristic of interest (for example, they have been exposed to a risk factor) who are then followed over time as various exogenous factors have impact. The cohort of interest may be compared with another group, identical as far as possible in all other respects, without the characteristic of interest (i.e. they have not been exposed to the risk factor) each of which is then followed over time.
