Commercial Bias

Definition

Health Economics

  • A bias in some published cost-effectiveness research studies that allegedly arises from the source of the studies' research funding. It may also arise from the downright suppression of 'unwanted' scientific results. Even thoughtful criticism can provoke storms of antagonistic and strident aggression against the critics from (optimistic) patients and (self-interested) manufacturers.
