conformal map

Definition

Astronomy

  • A drawing showing different regions of space-time, drawn up according to relativistic rules. Conformal maps are single diagrams on which time and space appear on different axes of the same map, which can also include alternative universes in the same picture. They were developed by the British scientist Roger Penrose (born 1931), and allow imaginary universes to be displayed simply.
