conjunction

Definitions

General English

  • noun a word which connects different sections of a sentence. ‘and’ and ‘but’ are conjunctions.

Astronomy

  • Close apparent approach of two objects in the sky as seen from the Earth, usually the Sun and a planet. With Venus and Mercury the convention is that inferior conjunction has the inner planet between Earth and Sun and superior conjunction has it on the far side of the Sun.

Computing

Electronics

  • A logical operation which is true only if all of its elements are true. For example, if three out of three input bits have a value of 1, then the output is 1. Any other combination yields an output of 0. For such functions, a 1 is considered as a true, or high, value, and 0 is a false, or low, value. Also called AND, or intersection (2).
