  • a famous chateau in the Saint-Estèphe AOC in Bordeaux, graded deuxième cru (second growth) in the classification of 1855. It produces the best wines of the appellation that are full-bodied, dark and tannic and that develop into wines that rival those from neighbouring Pauillac. They are made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and a tiny amount of Cabernet Franc grapes.
