decade box

  • A box or other enclosure which houses multiple sections of components, such as precision resistors or capacitors, whose values vary in multiples of ten from section to section. Each section has 10 components of equal value, which provide 10 equal steps. One section may range from 1-9, the next from 10-99, the following from 100-999, and so on. A user employs selector switches to choose the appropriate value from each section to obtain the desired final result.
