  • Its symbol is °C. A unit of temperature interval used in the Celsius scale. This scale is based on the freezing and boiling points of water under certain conditions, assigning values of 0 °C and 100 °C respectively. An increment of 1 degree Celsius equals an increment of 1 kelvin. Formerly called degree centigrade.
