Descriptive Study

Definition

Health Economics

  • A study that records a situation or a distribution of data without any analysis of cause and effect or hypothesis testing. Statistical modelling issues are irrelevant: one 'simply' observes that one statistic varies as another varies, for example, health varies as socioeconomic status varies. Cause and effect may not be inferred, even if there have been controls for covariates.
