  • A semiconductor device, such as a transistor, which is manufactured utilizing two successive diffusion processes, one for each region of different conductivity. Such semiconductors have a very precise channel length, feature high gain and speed, and are used, for instance, for microwave applications. Also called double-diffused metal-oxide semiconductor, or double-diffused MOS. Its abbreviation is DMOS, or diffused MOS.
