  • A laser which utilizes two distinct wavelengths. Such a device may be designed for use by a dentist who employs one wavelength to drill teeth, and the other to work on soft tissue, such as the gums. Another example is its use in some DVD players, to enable reading optical discs with other formats, such as CDs.
  • A gas laser which simultaneously produces two distinct wavelengths from a single laser beam.
