Duke ball

Definition

Cricket

  • noun a type of cricket ball manufactured in the UK and widely used in English cricket. The Duke ball has a more prominent seam than the Kookaburra ball and this is said to enhance movement in the air. England is now the only Test-playing team to use these balls in Test matches, most other sides preferring the Kookaburra.
