  • A disparaging nickname for the Queen's Theatre, a former venueon Tottenham Street, London (subsequently replaced by the ScalaTheatre). Owing largely to its unfashionable location, the Queen'swas not a great success. The nickname refers to its bleak and generallyuncrowded interior.
