Health Economics

  • A method of assessing the likely effectiveness or cost-effectiveness of a drug or other clinical intervention prior to extensive field trials. It typically has four characteristic elements: (1) a decision analysis model describing the expected course and management of the disease, (2) a profile of possible costs and outcomes, (3) an estimated range of possible prices and (4) a sensitivity analysis.
