Economic Good

Definition

Health Economics

  • A good or service of which more is wanted. It corresponds to the non-satiation axiom of economic choice theory. It is not necessarily a good or service that commands a market price. In this context 'good' carries no normative baggage and the reasons for wanting the good in question may themselves be good or bad or neither. Health care commonly meets the definition of an economic good or service.
