  • A situation in which all the participants in any given financial marketplace receive all pertinent information as soon it becomes available and are able to act upon it immediately. Because the inherent flaw in the efficient market theory is that it would invalidate just about any trading or investment strategy that aimed to outperform the market, most stock investors and forex traders put little credence in it.
