  • A function which varies as the power of another quantity. Such a function may be expressed, for instance, as y = ax, where a is a constant.
  • The function y = ex, where e is the base of natural logarithms. An alternate expression for this function is: y = exp (x) where x is the number to which e is raised. It is the inverse function of the natural logarithm function.
