  • Oil obtained from fish, principally from the livers of cod and halibut, which contains essential fatty acids (EFAs) as well as vitamins A and D which are all necessary for health. Often sold in gelatine capsules as a vitamin supplement, but the required amounts can be obtained by eating oily fish once a week. oily fish can contain up to 30 per cent fat of which about 20 per cent is saturated.
