Electronics

  • In a CRT, the return of the electron beam to its starting point after a sweep or trace. Also called retrace, or kickback (2).
  • Within a sawtooth waveform, the interval in which there is a rapid rise or fall. Ideally, such an increase or decrease would be instantaneous.
  • A rapid decrease of a current or voltage, which until that instant had been rising.
