  • A versatile spotlight able to produce a beam that is brightbut softer than a profile spot. Often used in combinationwith other lights, Fresnels can be adjusted using shutters (calledbarndoors) or by changing the lamp's distance from the lens;the 1000-watt version can be used for lighting the front of house.The spot was named after Augustin Jean Fresnel (1788 - 1827),the French inventor of the Fresnel lens.
