Construction

  • A metal link made of two parts held together by a low-melting-point alloy. When exposed to fire-condition temperatures, the link separates, allowing a door, damper, or device to be closed.

Electronics

  • A wire which performs the function of a fuse in a circuit. Such a link may be intentionally melted or broken, as is the case when utilized in PROM chips.
