G display



  • In radars, a rectangular display where the scanned object appears as a centralized blip when the antenna is aimed directly at it. As the distance to the scanned object diminishes, the blip appears to grow wings. As said distance continues to decrease, the width of the wings increases. horizontal and vertical displacement of the blip away from the center of the display indicate the azimuth and elevation errors respectively. Also called G scan, G scanner, G scope, or G indicator.
