Generalizability

Definition

Health Economics

  • The extent to which the results or conclusions of one piece of empirical evidence may be validly transposed to other situations. It is sometimes referred to as 'transferability'. In statistics the term ' exchangeability ' is sometimes used. A study of variations in the cost-effectiveness of Chagas disease control policies illustrates the significance of the issue with respect to geography (Castillo-Riquelme et al., 2008).
