Gloucestershire pie



  • Layers of cooked and sliced lamb and thinly sliced apple and onions, both of which have been boiled for 5 minutes, placed in a greased ovenproof dish, seasoned and sprinkled with dried herbs between layers. The layers are covered with a rich gravy, topped with mashed potatoes and swedes, brushed with molten butter and baked at 190°C for an hour.
