ground wave

Definition

Electronics

  • A radio wave which is propagated parallel to the surface of the earth. Such a wave is composed of three components, which are the direct wave, the ground-reflected wave, and the surface wave. Alternatively, it may be considered to be composed of a space wave and a surface wave, as the space wave incorporates both the direct wave and the ground-reflected wave.
