  • A long irregularly shaped flat that stands on thestage floor, usually to mask the lights illuminating the lower partof a cyclorama or cloth. It is normally paintedto show such ground features as rocks or a horizon with hills or mountains.A groundrow depicting waves is called a sea row or waterrow. The term is also used for the row of lights masked by ascenic groundrow.
