  • Health-adjusted life-expectancy (HALE) is life expectancy weighted or adjusted for the level of health-related quality of life. The average number of years that a person in a given jurisdiction can expect to live in full health by taking into account years lived in less than full health due to disease and/or injury. It is the basic indicator of population health levels used by the World Health Organization.
