  • Tubing made of a plastic material which shrinks in diameter when heated, providing a snug fit. Such tubing may shrink to about half of its original diameter, and when cooled does not expand. Used, for instance, to protect cable splices from dust and/or moisture. Also called heat-shrinkable tubing, or shrink tubing.
