Construction

  • An instrument having an automatically adjusting mirror that follows the apparent movement of the sun and continuously reflects its rays onto a collector.

Electronics

  • An instrument or device which incorporates a mirror which is automatically moved, so as to always reflect sunlight. A heliostat is usually clock-driven, and may be used, for instance, to maintain solar panels pointing in the optimum direction.
