lathered

Definition

Slang

  • adjective drunk. The word may suggest the image of beer froth or saliva on the face of the drinker or may, like many similar terms, be based on the notion of beating/punishment as conveyed by the colloquial sense of ‘lather’, meaning to thrash. An item of student slang in use in London and elsewhere since around 2000.
