Electronics

  • A circuit or device which limits the amplitude of its output signal to a predetermined maximum, regardless of the variations of its input. Used, for example, for preventing component, equipment, or media overloads. Also called by various other names, including limiter circuit, limiting circuit, peak limiter, peak clipper, automatic peak limiter, clipper circuit, clipper, and amplitude limiter.
