  • A flexible cord containing two insulated wires, and which terminates in a two-pronged plug. It is utilized to connect an appliance or other electrical devices to a power source, especially an outlet. Such a cord may also have a third conductor, along with a third prong, for a safety connection to ground. Also called power cord.
