  • A gradual and undesired change in a characteristic or a set adjustment of a device, component, instrument, piece of equipment, or system. Examples include frequency drift, thermal drift, or changes in power output. Also called drift (1).
  • Drift which occurs over a comparatively long time interval, as opposed to short-term drift, which occurs more rapidly.
