  • noun steel containing 0.03 to 0.3 per cent carbon (typically 0.2 per cent)

Construction

  • Steel with less than 0.20% carbon. This type of steel is not used for structural members, due to its ductility. It is good for boilers, tanks, and objects that must be formed. See also mild steel.
