Health Economics

  • (written as Mental Health)
The economics of mental health is much like the rest of health economics in the challenges it poses for standard economic theory - only more so. The particular additional concerns arise from doubts as to the applicability of the usual axioms of utility theory as a basis either for explaining behaviour or for prescribing what is best for patients.
