  • The stage name of the French actress and singer Jeanne-MarieBourgeois (1873 - 1956). Mistinguett was a star of the music hallsof Paris between the wars, notably the Moulin Rouge and theFolies-Bergère, where she danced and sang with Maurice Chevalier.She also performed in comedy. Mistinguett was famous for her spectacularhats, her elaborate costumes, and her long shapely legs, which weresaid to be insured for a huge sum of money.
