Mongolian barbecue

Definition

Food

  • An upwardly convex domed steel plate set over a fierce heat source and usually with a gutter round the edge. Finely chopped foods (often self selected by the guest) are cooked rapidly on the plate in small quantities. Said to be derived from the upturned shield on which Mongolian horsemen cooked their food.
